Scriptures of the Day

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”

Jeremiah 29:11-12 (NIV)

6 “Humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

I Peter 5:6-7 (NLT)

Today’s Blog: God Cares for You!

Are you carrying a heavy burden today? Is there something making you uneasy or that is rocking your world? Today’s scripture reminds us that no matter what is the source of your angst, God will help you if you turn to Him in humility. Jesus is not some made up figment of your imagination. He is real and alive today just as He was some 2000 years ago. He speaks to us through the Bible, His Divine Word, as to how to pray, and live according to God’s way.

We don’t need to carry our burdens on our own. Jesus is there to help and lightens our load at every juncture. We just need to make things right with God, pray and ask for His unfailing help! He cares for you and your every need!

Sometimes Life Gets Complicated

Sometimes life gets complicated leaving us feeling depleted and vulnerable. Really vulnerable. Our challenges and difficulties may be far-reaching, and often not limited to just one thing. I’m sure you know that reality from your own life. It is possible—and predictable–that we will eventually be stretched beyond what we think we can endure as human beings with limits. When that happens, or things seem to be going in that direction, it is always best to look to Jesus, the bearer of our burdens, our greatest hope for a better life both here and for all of eternity.

The Bible tells us that Jesus is our hope in times of trouble. He is not some imaginary friend, but The One who sustains and restores us! We need to invite Him into every situation we face —whatever it is!

Jesus: Our Help in Times of Trouble

Eternal and daily Savior for those who believe in Him, Jesus stands ready to help you. He is the remedy for your fear and angst in this ever changing, crazy world we live in. Jesus is always the same, all knowing, and ever-available to those who seek Him. He stands ready to bring peace and comfort to weary souls; to guide, heal, and protect us, calm our fears; even save us in the most practical ways from ourselves and our enemies (if we have any) in every situation. It’s true, and really just that easy!

Sometimes we feel life gives us far more to deal with than we can bear on our own. Like facing and going through cancer and all that goes with that seemingly impossible, scary diagnosis…Just ask my friend, author June Chapko, who tells us in our podcast interview today that you are not alone–God cares for you!
