HOLY WEEK: The Rest of the Story

[UPDATE BLOG   |   Please click on the blog title to read full article.] For 10+ years, 2-4 times per month, I have written this God-inspired blog. Appreciated by many, it has also been scorned, unsubscribed to, and even avoided by some. During that time, I have also recently received Facebook warnings for some of my blog posts. But I continue to consider it my personal mission to “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.” [Mark 16:15]. OK—that biblical goal may sound like a grandiose—and it is! But it’s actually a mandate from Jesus. For me, it is more a matter of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in my little corner of the world…One can only try! Again, a lofty goal—one that can only be pursued with persistence, and God’s enduring help. “Those who have never been told of him shall see, and those who have never heard of him shall understand.” Romans 15:21. Some have received what is contained in these blog posts whole-heartedly; yet others not so much. A few have even been reportedly annoyed by the messages contained in The Inspiration Café blog. Clearly it’s not for everyone! As to those who have embraced this ministry effort, I am truly heartened. For those who have not, it is my express prayer that perhaps one day they may. Either way, I do not take it personally, count it as a success to boast, or deem it a failure, as I fully understand there must be a readiness for accepting The Son of God, Our Lord Jesus Christ. I am nothing more than a seed...

Great Anticipation

By Adele M. Gill   |   Silver Lining Ministries [Please be sure and click on the title of this blog post to read full article.] Great Anticipation. Our loving God has so many life-giving attributes, but one He is most well-known for is being ‘The Great Communicator.’ Unceasingly trying to reach us, especially when we are fully undeserving. God attempts to communicate with all of us in various ways. Some find God when they are in Church; others experience Him through nature. Some see God in the faces of those who are suffering. Yet others seek Him only when they are hurting or in turmoil, with nowhere else to look for help but up. Oftentimes, we experience God when we are alone in the middle of the night, away from worldly distractions. Other times we find Him while praying with others. We all hear and see God’s presence in different ways. Yet we need to recognize His finest work in our lives, give credit where due, and share His glory with others. It is so important to pray and to share with others what God is doing in your life any way you can, in ways great and small, so that they, too, may live in hope, knowing God’s unconditional love for them. “What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.” Matthew 10:27 Yes–we all have our own ways of seeking God out and sharing Him with others. He will dependably meet us wherever we are ,when we do. Could it be that we need to humble ourselves,...

Remedy For This Crazy World

By Adele M. Gill   |   Silver Lining Ministries Remedy for this crazy world… I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to grow a little weary, and less and less dismayed by what is transpiring daily in this country—numb, even. Perhaps I am finally coming to realize that it is a “God-job” to fix our country. Perhaps we need to remember that the battle we are fighting has already been won by Jesus on the cross. As promised, He is providing for our every need, gently leading those who believe in Him and eternal life. In essence, we are just sojourners passing through this life…. “If, then, you heed all that I command you, walking in my ways, and do what is right in my eyes by keeping my statutes and my commandments…I will be with you.” 1 Kings 11:38 God Loves All People Equally The Bible tells us that God, Our Creator, loves all people—all of humanity—equally. But that is just part of the story. Though His love for us all is eternal, scripture also reveals to us that God’s favor rests upon those who revere Him and keep His statutes. He is with His believers as they strive who seek Him, live good lives, serve Him through others, and give Him the glory. However, those who choose not to seek Him are certainly entitled to that choice, too; but they should know they are on their own… [Jesus said:] “A new command I give you: Love one another, as I have loved you…” John 13:34 So what is the remedy for this crazy world we live in? There are two: 1) Praying for sound, Godly discernment, peace,...
