“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
If God Is for us. Today’s Scripture is a powerful reminder that when God is on our side, when we give Jesus control over the details of our lives, we are truly empowered like never before. Empowered to pray with confidence for all that we, and our loved ones need, trusting those prayers will be answered, those needs will be met. It is then that we are best prepared to take on the challenges of this world, regardless of circumstances. We are far more able to love others; that includes our enemies and those people in our lives who are difficult to love.
When you strive to live a faith-filled life and follow God’s ways, you are in a key position to step out with holy boldness, move away from your own worldly desires and needs, to reach for all that is good and right and true. You are no better than anyone else, but your primary focus is striving to do God’s Divine Will in your life. That is, you are equipped to do as much good as you possibly can for Him, with complete and utter abandon. You are able to throw caution to the wind, put aside your fears, endure great things, and harness Jesus’ strength in times of weakness—with patience, perseverance, courage and love.
Stepping Out In Holy Boldness
As was the case with some of the disciples throughout their ministries, we too, are often afraid to serve God with all our being, and step out in holy boldness. We choose not to take the high road. After all, what will others think of us, and what will be the personal cost to me? Yes, we may have concerns and fears and doubts, but we need to try to serve God with all our being all the same. Just remember: faith and holy boldness are gifts of the Holy Spirit who dwells with, inside of all who place their trust in God. These do not come from us, but from God himself through the power of the Holy Spirit.
To be able to proclaim God’s love and awe-inspiring almighty power to others, especially to those who feel unworthy—and aren’t we all?–is one of the greatest privileges we have in this life. However, if you find yourself hesitant to step up and share the love of God with others, in word and or deed, you are certainly not alone. Consider this: when you discover and recognize all the amazing things that God has done for you in your own life and the lives of your loved ones, given you so many blessings, it is hard to be silent!
Abundant Opportunities to Sing God’s Praise
Everything we have comes from God; and He certainly gives each of us abundant opportunities to sing His praises, especially as we grow closer in our walk with Jesus. Oftentimes, as we get closer to Him and realize the great Love Jesus has for us, we feel his presence and are compelled to share Him with others, even if simply through a kind word and a smile. We want to share Jesus with others so they can know Him like we do.
When we understand that God is there for us 24/7 in every way like no one else ever could, our sense of powerlessness and aloneness fall by the wayside. They are replaced by a life of gratitude and selfless service to God through others. When we finally embrace the reality that God is for us like no one else ever has been or could be; that Jesus is fighting our battles with us and for us, we can rest more easily. We are then able to and focus more on leading souls to Him through the power instilled in us by the Holy Spirit.
God always generously provides for those who seek Him. If you seek Him, you will find Him, and He will change your lot. Only then do we understand that when we place our lives in God’s hands, there is no longer any human being or circumstance that has any power over us anymore. As believers, we are enabled, equipped and free to live and love others as we walk in God’s light. And in turn, we become a light for others along the way. We are able to revel in the quiet knowing that all is well.
