7 STEPS TO GO FROM BROKEN TO BLEST

STEP 7: Embrace the Healing That Awaits You

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father…”

James 1:17

What would you do if God blessed you with a healing miracle in body, mind or spirit as He so often does. Would you recognize it?

Challenging circumstances have the extraordinary capacity to teach us important life lessons, and help us seek Jesus with greater fervor. That, in turn, provides tremendous opportunities to embrace the healings that await s you— and all God’s blessings!

Once you begin to trust Jesus and focus squarely and more intently on Him and His presence in our daily lives, you will soon see the abundant blessings great and small that He has tailor-made and reserved for you. You can walk in peace, no matter what life brings your way! If you search for God’s blessings in every situation, you will find them, and be forever changed through His mercy and grace.

We don’t need to turn to other people to meet our basic emotional needs, have their approval, or have them tell us we are ‘good enough.’ For who else’s opinion of us really matters but that of God? In the most practical terms, according to Bible scripture, we are to follow Jesus’ two commands that He gave us that summarize the Ten Commandments in this way:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Matthew 22:37-40

By so doing, we are at peace with God. It is then that we are free to embrace the healing that awaits us—healing only God can give. We need to believe that God’s Love is ever-present, enough to sustain us. So how do we fulfill these two commands to love, both God and others? How do we love others, especially those we consider difficult to love? While living a Christian life we must try our level best to love all people–even our enemies; strive to live in harmony, agree to disagree when necessary, forgive quickly, and give others a pass whenever they offend or hurt us.

When we embrace and celebrate Jesus’ perfection, we grow can in humility and realize we can’t do it on our own. He is perfect, we are not. For Jesus really is the Great Healer, Comforter, Protector, Our Lord and Savior– the source of all discernment and wisdom. When we embrace His majesty is when we are become able to discover the good in every situation and relationship. Before long, as we embrace our own shortcomings and imperfections, and those of others, we can come to appreciate Jesus’ finest work in our lives, and see others as He does.

Ask for Whatever You Need

In order to believe and trust in Jesus’ saving power, we need to believe that He is there for us always, working for our good. For He IS our greatest hope; The One who provides silver linings and hence, all of the undeserved blessings we yearn for and receive. Jesus is The One who has the power to save us from every situation, temptation, and disappointment. He also save us from ourselves when we go astray. He is The One who helps us rise above seemingly impossible odds and circumstances to victory through His love and divine presence in our lives. He paves the way for us to recognize something good can come from absolutely any and every situation we face and endure. For God never wastes a thing in His divine plan for us and our lives—especially hope.

In stepping up to make things right with God by acknowledging you are a sinner, and invite Jesus into your life, you can trust Him to take care of you, especially in adversity. He will give you a new life as you seek Him with all your heart. As you begin to change, and embrace each challenge and blessing for what it is—victory over adversity through Jesus–becomes a reality.

Scripture tells us that whatever you were yesterday does not matter. For God clears the slate once you ask for His forgiveness for your sins, and make things right with Him. You are a new creation! The past you lived means nothing in God’s eyes once you confess your sins to Him. For the asking, Jesus will soften your heart, give you new perspective, purpose, direction; and a hunger and thirst to follow Him and serve Him in all things. He will equip you well, giving you the power and grace to live a new life in and for Him, healing in mind, body and soul—the greatest blessings of all!

All Things Are Possible with God

The world will tell you that healing is unobtainable, that healing is impossible with certain medical diagnoses or even depression and other mental illness. But God-given miracles affecting mind-body and soul do happen–and often!

The truth is, at times in our lives, we are struggling, broken people. We all make mistakes, and we all make bad choices at times. Most of all, we are all sinners. No one is noble, good, true, holy and righteous all the time. We are called by God to grow in humility, but we can be downright sinful, prideful, arrogant and selfish at times. Yet, when we strive to do our best for God each day, and not fall into the pit of self-righteousness that comes with the pursuit of perfection, God will do His finest work in and through us. It is then that we can embrace the healing that He has waiting for us!

There isn’t anything that God doesn’t know about you and me. There is no secret you can keep from God, our All-knowing, Ever-present, Almighty Lord and Savior. He knows your strengths, weaknesses, and failings, and the desires in the depth of your heart, even before you express them aloud. Jesus knows all about your tough situation, and your difficult relationships with others. He knows your quirks, your likes and dislikes, and prejudices. He knows all of the choices you make and the desires of your heart; your flaws and imperfections. He knows when we don’t love as we should, and about those we consider enemies in the recesses of our hearts.

Let Jesus Lift You Up

God is well-aware of our sins of un-forgiveness, everything that makes us who we are. Still, He celebrates our strengths and harnesses our weaknesses all the same. Jesus, God’s Only Son, is the One who will lift you up when you fail, and guide you when you fall short. His love and grace remain with those who seek Him in earnest, and it prevails as you struggle with your challenges, limitations, loneliness, humiliation, and failures of every kind. Without Him we are powerless and our own…

The love of God rises above all that you are, and ever will be. Like a good father, He loves you just because you are you. Not because you went to a prestigious college, have 1000 Facebook friends, or have a career in full bloom. Not because you do volunteer work, say the rosary every day, or go to Bible studies and church each week. He knows you like no other, and still treasures you, “as is,” just the way you are, because you are you. It is only by God’s grace that He loves us unconditionally. When we wander away from Him and His commandments, like sheep running from their shepherd, Jesus beckons us to Himself and remains steadfast in His unfailing Love.

In the eyes of God, we are all precious, unique and special. His love knows no bounds—even when we fall away. He wants to be central in our daily life, doing His finest work on our behalf. But it’s up to us to do our part. God’s love is everlasting, and He is with those who revere Him in untold ways. But we need to respond in kind. For scripture tells us in scripture:

“We love because [God] loved us first…”

1 John 4:19

How Will You Respond to God’s Love & Grace?

In the pursuit of humility and holiness, we need to embrace and revel in whatever healing God has in store for us. We are called to put aside the illusion of our perfection, and strive to be the best we can be in the eyes of God. There is no need to impress anyone or walk in shame before others. Ever. These things just serve as a distraction from staying focused on the Love, Mercy, and Grace of Our Dear Lord, Jesus Christ.

At the end of the day, and your life, it’s just you and God your Almighty Creator, the lover of your soul. He is the only One who really matters. God is The One through whom all blessings flow. Perhaps today is the day to turn to Jesus. This can only happen when you choose to believe and trust in Him every situation. It really is a choice!

When you place your belief and trust in Jesus, the façade of your illusions of being perfect soon fade, and will be replaced with awe-inspired gratitude for the Love, grace, mercy, healing, peace and abundant blessings that only God can bring!
