God is in control. Despite how dismal things may appear right now, we need to remember—and never forget–that God is still in control. No one is beyond his reach, no one is beyond His sight. With that said, we need to remember that God is always with us, even in times when we endure hatred, destruction, and chaos, and hears and answers our anguished pleas for help, our heartfelt prayers.

Pray Specifically

But did you know that the more specifically you pray, the more specifically God will answer your prayers? I believe that prayer really does change things for the better as God intercedes on our behalf and makes all things new. It’s true! In this time of much needed change, healing and mayhem, let’s come together to pray:

~ Please Join Me in Prayer ~

Dear Father God,

We believe You are in control, and are humbled by all that is transpiring.      In our humanness, we are feeling anxious, sad, afraid, burdened, and weary this day, but none the less, we place our trust in you.

With the scourge of racism front and center in this country, and with  the violent, agenda-driven anarchists threatening our streets and are burning down our cities. We weep over what is, and wonder what will be ahead for all of us. These things, combined with Covid-19 infirmity, fears and social isolation, and the economy, we are totally overwhelmed, feeling lost and vulnerable. Like Job, we look around and have to ask: how long Lord? How much more can we endure?

The fear and uncertainty we are experiencing are palpable. Too many cities are being subjected to destructive forces as evil dances across our land. We pray you will evict The Enemy right now, in the name of Jesus Christ. Be gone!

Please help our nation dialog, change and heal, and please, please provide a hedge of protection around all who seek You in this time of great need. You are aloe for our hurting souls, the source of our comfort. You are the One preparing people of conscience for unprecedented healing and reconciliation. We pray for discernment to know Your divine will in all things, as we desperately need Your help and seek your holy intercession.

For you are our fortress, our shield & refuge; our help in times of trouble. You shelter and rescue us, time and again, from anger, depression and other mental illness, infirmity, violence, and mayhem. You are the Author of Life and the Author of Peace; The Enemy is easy to recognize, as he is the author of fear, confusion, chaos and destruction. Instill in your people discernment and a deep calm; peace that surpasses understanding, and an enduring hunger and thirst for You. Only You can heal our nation, Lord.

Heal the deep rooted wounds of racism and bigotry in this great country, Lord, and fill your people with compassion, empathy, mutual respect, patience, and persistence to fight the good fight for lasting, peaceful change. For we believe You work all things for good [Romans 8:28].

Give us eyes and hearts to see your hand in every circumstance, and to praise you, especially in tumultuous times, like now. Help us to harness this most difficult time, to see it as an opportunity to seek you in humility and with complete abandon. Let peace begin with me…

We ask all this in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!  /

Want to get God’s attention?

The following scripture is a roadmap to peace and healing for people with discernment:

[God said]:

14 If My people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves  and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.”

2 Chronicles 7: 14-15
