“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27

Peace. Just the word has the ability to lower one’s blood pressure.

Have you ever felt confused as mayhem takes root in your soul? Of course you have! We all have! Whether you are dealing with a tough diagnosis and prognosis, the death of a loved one, a broken relationship, unemployment, or financial challenges,  this world is often filled with stormy turbulence, distractions to call your attention away from a deep, abiding peace. But remember this: Jesus is with you always, tirelessly standing in the breech, ready to bring you back to a state of peace, simply for the asking.

The world can be a cruel and harrowing place. Ask anyone living with a life-threatening disease, unemployment, or mental illness, and they will tell you just how hard this life can be. Yet when we depend upon Jesus for  respite, He is the antidote, as he is able to bring instant peace into any difficult situation, any time of adversity. This life was not designed to live on our own, but rather, to live each day with Jesus’ help.

Dear Lord,                                                                                                                                                                                           You know what I am dealing with better than I do, and I pray you will intercede on my behalf. Almighty Savior,  I invite you into my life today and ask you for reconciliation where I have fallen short in your eyes. I pray with confidence that you will calm the waters and bring me peace right now, as only You can. Look with favor on my family, my efforts and my life, and grant me peace in my days. Cast out all fear and distractions so I can realize your great love for me. Look with favor on my life, as I strive to serve you well, regardless of circumstances, with all my being, from this day forward. Amen!
