“All things are possible with God.”

Mark 10:27

Who’s fighting your battles? Certainly, we all face challenges and difficulties, and are at times, fighting battles that leave us feeling alone and vulnerable. Sometimes feeling that we are up against insurmountable odds, facing impossible circumstances; it seems that things will never work out as we had hoped. At times like these, it is hard to believe that anyone could possibly help save us from ourselves, and the inevitable, or help us get past our situation. But Jesus can!

Prayer Changes Things

I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I’m in the middle of something, I forget to pray and ask for God’s help. Eventually, I remember to pray to God and ask for His help. Oftentimes one brief prayer ca change everything, and we can sort through things more logically, more realistically, putting all anxiety, and fear aside. Rather than continuing to have an emotional reaction to whatever is going on, we are reminded that God is in control—not us.

When we pray to God, in the name of Jesus, we are far better equipped to believe and trust in God’s will as He joins us in our battles. It is then that we are well-prepared to wait patiently to see what God will do next on our behalf. Not only is God in control when we place our trust in Him, He’s in control anyway! God is with us through thick and thin, in this life and the next. So now you know who’s fighting your battles…

God Will Fight Our Battles for Us

Though it is hard to do, we need to humbly pray and ask for whatever we need, and God will fight our battles for us once we have tried our best. Then once we have done all we can, we need to step back and let Him do His finest work—without interfering in His work or taking back our trust in Him. Believe it or not, at that point, when we’ve done all we can do, God will actually fight our battles for us if we can just not interfere. Our interference may very well disrupt the good He is doing on our behalf. Here are some scriptures that are clear proof that when you pray, God will fight your battles for you:

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Mark 11:24

“They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord…”

Jeremiah 1:19

30 “The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you…”
Deuteronomy 1:30

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Exodus 14:14

“For the battle is not yours, it belongs to God…”

2 Chronicles 20:15

So who’s fighting your battles? God is if you but invite Him in! These above scriptures clearly show us that God will fight our battles with us, and for us. He is there for each of us, especially when we pray and reach out to Him with holy boldness, trust, and confidence in His saving power in the here and now.

Many times I have heard people say that they rarely pray for themselves, but they still pray for others. But God is clear in scripture that He wants us to trust Him and come to Him with all of our joys, our sorrows, and our angst—to bring with us all that is on our hearts and minds. We must learn to turn to God in every situation, both for ourselves, and others. God beckons each of us to come closer as we place our trust in Him, and thereby grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ, God’s Only Son. Jesus is alive and present to, and for, you and me. He will fight your battles for you, you just need to trust Him and ask.
